Seafarer Recruiting Agents Association presents Bipap machine to Matara General Hospital

Former Navy Commander Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe, who coordinated the event, and members of the Executive Committee of the Association of Seafarer Recruiting Agents, Capt. Rohan Kodipilly, Jagath Perera, Surinda de Abrew, Sujeewa Senaratne and Kalinga de Silva were also present.

Association of Seafarer Recruiting Agents (ASRA) donates a Bipap Machine to the Matara General Hospital for use in patients with acute respiratory distress due to Covid infection. State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and Covid Disease Control Dr.SudarshiniFernandopulle participated in the event last day (01) at the Ministry of Health. A BiPac Mobile Type Machine worth Rs. 1.4 million was donated by Captain AjithPeiris, President of the Association of Seafarer Recruiting Agents (ASRA) to C.S. Rajapaksa, Pharmacist, Matara General Hospital at the occasion.

State Minister Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle stated that the donation made by the Association of Seafarer Recruiting Agents to the Matara Hospital today as an institution directly involved in bringing in $ 500 million in annual foreign exchange earnings to the country with an active seamanship capacity of over 16,000 is very important for the control of Covid.

The Minister said that she is grateful on behalf of the government for coming forward in this manner to save the lives of the people of the country at this crucial moment of the third wave of Covid.
