The Solex Group of Companies, which has manufactured a range of water pumps for the domestic, agricultural and industrial sectors for the past 40 years, introduced Unico water pumps to the Sri Lankan market in 2005.
With the introduction of Unico water pumps, the company was able to expand its brand portfolio into the mass segment of Sri Lankan consumers. The objective of presenting a new brand under the Solex family was to offer consumers a superior product at a competitive price.
The concept of Unico was introduced by Chairman Upali Wijayasiri and his wife Mrs. Manjula Wijayasiri (Dep. Chairman and Director Operations).
Marking the 15th anniversary of the introduction of Unico pumps, Mrs. Manjula Wijayasiri said, “Over the past 40 years, Solex has won the hearts and minds of many Sri Lankans. We are a company providing quality and value-added solutions to our consumers. Unico has strengthened its grip in the Sri Lankan market over the past decade and the brand has widened its range of products. Today, the Unico domestic range of water pumps range from 0.5 HP - 2HP. There is also a range of submersible and tube well pumps. I congratulate the Solex team for making the Unico journey successful and worthwhile.
