Indian Foreign Secretary Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday on an official visit on the invitation of Foreign Secretary Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage. During his stay till October 5, the Indian Foreign Secretary will visit Kandy, Trincomalee and Jaffna.
A media release from the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry stated, “The visit will contribute towards consolidating the longstanding multi-faceted relations and enhance bilateral partnerships between the two countries.”
Apart from the bilateral discussion with the Sri Lankan Foreign Secretary, Foreign Secretary Shringla’s program includes a call on the President, Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and the Foreign Minister.
This is his first visit to Sri Lanka since assuming office as the Foreign Secretary of India.
