Contact nearest MOH for vaccine

17 October, 2021

All those above the age of 20 and did not obtain their Covid-19 vaccine while it was available for them in the past can now obtain it by contacting the nearest Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Health Services Deputy Director General Dr. Hemantha Herath said. He told a press briefing at the Health Promotion Bureau (HPB) in Colombo on Friday that all those who are above the age of 20 and did not receive their Covid-19 vaccine in the past while it was available for them at their villages, towns and institutions can now obtain the vaccine by contacting the nearest MOH and booking a date and time.

He said that all they need to do is call or visit their nearest MOH and obtain a date and time to receive the vaccine. They should provide their NIC or Passport to prove their age.

The Government Medical Officers’ Association Secretary Dr. Senal Fernando said that young Sri Lankans should obtain the Covid-19 vaccine without giving into various myths and if they do not do so, it will affect the country’s target of achieving immunity against Covid-19 by 70 percent of the total population. If that happens the responsibility should be taken by youth.
