Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA) will continue with the 99th National Athletic Championships to be conducted on October 30 and 31 at the Sugathadasa Stadium.
Already nine events have been completed and the remaining events will be conducted on these two days. In addition there is a change in the list of competitors for the 5000 metres event for women and the 10,000 metres event for men.
Order of events for the two days are as follows:
The finals in the 10,000 metres for women and 5,000 metres for men will be held. The pole vault event for men will also see the finals being worked out.
The 100 metres hurdles for women in the heptathlon will be worked out.
The men’s decathlon event will see the 100 metres event being held in the heats one and two. The men’s 100m hurdles event will also see two heats being worked out.
The 200m event for men and women will also see three heats being held. There will be three heats in the 800m event for men.
The high jump event for women heptathlon will also be worked out. The long jump event for men’s decathlon will go ahead.
The final event in the Discus throw for women will also be worked out during these two days of the Nationals. (TBR)
