Sri Lanka’s former dashing batsman and bowler Thisara Perera will once again lead the Jaffna Kings (earlier known as Stallions) in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) that will be played in Colombo and Hambantota in December.

He led the team to win the championship last year and is expected to repeat this performance once again.

Thisara, as a world class all-rounder, has played franchise T20 cricket all around the world for numerous leagues including the IPL and PSL. He became the second player ever to take a hat-trick in both ODIs and T20 Internationals.

The franchise has also retained Thilina Kandambi, the former Sri Lanka batsman who guided the Jaffna Stallions to its victory in 2020, as their head coach.

Earlier this year, Kandambi was appointed the head coach of the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament team the Bangla Tigers.

The Jaffna Kings franchise is owned by Sri Lanka-born British entrepreneur, Alirajah Subaskaran, the Founder and Chairman of Lyca Group of companies.

Lyca Group is a British multinational corporation delivering its products and services across telecommunications, entertainment, travel and tourism, healthcare, media, technology, financial services, marketing and hospitality.

The group has been diversifying its businesses in the South Asian region with a strong presence in India and Sri Lanka.
