The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has got the nod to host the Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament in September next year.
At a recently held meeting in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates put a bid to host this tournament that was rejected with Sri Lanka receiving the green light.
Countries under the purview of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) are eligible to qualify to play.
Sri Lanka will join the big two nations Pakistan and India along with Bangladesh in making up the main teams in the running. (AN)
