Cleantech (Pvt) Ltd, a solid waste management solutions company, recently completed another milestone in its corporate journey as a ‘Green Employer’, implementing Green Human Resources Management (Green HRM) practices at its corporate office in Colombo.

The first ‘Green Office’ of its kind within the Cleantech network, the facility reinforces the company’s commitment towards sustainable workplace practices and promoting ethical and sustainable business models. An event to mark the occasion was attended by Cleantech Management members, where the company’s Green HRM agenda was socialised to its employees as a non-negotiable priority. A highlight included Cleantech employees pledging to incorporate eco-friendly habits in their lives.

The introduction of sustainable HRM practices or Green HRM at Cleantech encompasses Green Recruitment and Selection, Green on boarding, Green Training and Development, Green Performance Management, and Green Reward Management.

Deputy General Manager, Legal and Human Resources of Cleantech, Nirmali Seneviratne said, “At Cleantech, our journey reflects our purpose, ‘Because We Care’. We care for our people, our environment, and our communities, and this is evidenced in the work that we do. We believe that by implementing Green HRM across our company, we can achieve multiple objectives and increase levels of job satisfaction and employee engagement, giving precedence to sustainable practices.”

Through sustainability related Training & Development (T&D), Cleantech equips its employees with knowledge, skills, and mindset to align and actively engage with the company’s green strategies. This includes training on the conservation of resources, recycling, and means to reduce the company’s carbon footprint, she said.
