President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa attended religious observances at the historic Kataragama Sacred Area on Friday, December 31 to invoke blessings for the New Year. The two leaders paid homage at the Kirivehera by participating in the Kapruk pooja, the Gilan Pasa and Medicinal Herbs pooja. They also called on the Chief Incumbent of the Kirivehera Rajamaha Vihara, Ven. Kobawaka Damminda Thera and inquired into the health and well-being of the Thera.
