Prime Minister honours International Leadership Award winners

Four youth Leaders of Leo District 306C2 Sri Lanka won the prestigious Lions Clubs International President’s Leadership Award 2020/2021.

Lions Clubs International being the world’s largest and most active service club organisation presented this prestigious leadership Award to the Lions and Leos to recognise their exceptional leadership, dedication and commitment towards the success of youth development activities around the globe.

Leo Indunil Udara Palihawadana, former Student Council President of Horizon Campus and President of Colombo Knights Leo Club, Leo Sunera Laneroll President of Ananda College Leo Club, Leo Tharindu Ranaweera, Deputy Head Prefect and President of the Thurstan College Leo Club and Leo Binuja Amaranayaka Deputy Head Prefect of Royal College and Vice President of the Leo Club are the four Sri Lankans who has achieved this prestigious honour.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa recently invited them to Temple Trees and congratulated and wished them for their success and the honour they have brought for the country through this highest level of achievement.

While accepting the honour bestowed upon to them by the Prime Minister the youth Award winners Binuja Amaranayaka, Tharindu Ranaweera, Sunera Lanaroll and Indunil Palihawadana informed the Premier about their future plans to develop the youth activities in Sri Lanka through the Leo Club Program. Being members of the world’s largest youth organisation representing over 214 countries the recognition given by the Prime Minister will add more courage for them to move forward with confidence, said the youth leaders.

Lions Clubs International District 306C2 Past District Governor and Ambassador for Leos and youth Lasantha Goonewardena and Immediate Past District Governor Rasika S. Priyantha joined the ceremony with the Prime Minister.
