Australia left England with a 388-run target and had them at 30 for no loss at the end of the fourth day of the fourth Ashes cricket Test in Sydney yesterday.

Taking a first innings lead of 122 after bowling out England for 294, Australia declared their second innings at 265 for 6 with Usman Khawaja making his second century of the match, an unbeaten 101 to go with his 137 in the second innings.

Khawaja made his 101 in 138 balls with 10 fours and two sixes as Australia went in for quick runs in an attempt to record a fourth successive win after taking a 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

Australia declared their innings at a time when they lost two wickets in two balls with Cameron Green (74) and Alex Carey (0) falling in successive balls to spinner Jack Leach who finished with 4 for 84)


Australia 416 for 8 declared (Usman Khawaja 137, Stuart Broad 5 for 101) and 265 for 6 declared (Usman Khawaja 101 not out, Jack Leach 4 for 84)

England 294 (Jonny Bairstow 113, Ben Stokes 66, Scot Boland 4 for 36) and 30 for no loss
