Junior Joes cricketer showcases sparkling form

Kanishka Dissanayake, the captain of the Under-15 team of St. Joseph’s College Colombo 10 displayed his prowess with the bat on yet another occasion as he cracked another sparkling knock by making 126 in only 139 balls spiced with 13 hits to the ropes in their Division One tournament match against President’s College Maharagama at Bandaragama.

He had a super strike rate of 90.65 and in the process became the first century-maker in the current tournament as the Joes made 384 for 8 in 50 overs while match ended in a no-result due to rain.

A stylish and technically correct opening batter, young Dissanayake initially showcased his blossoming talents when he scored three successive half centuries for an average of 44.43 and a top score of 73 against St. John’s College, Nugegoda while captaining the Under-13 team last year. He is also a handy bowler with his off-spinners.

Dissanayake has not only shone with the bat but is also being acknowledged by St. Joseph’s College as a team leader moving into the future in the Joes’ camp.
