Raan’s Kitchen gears to meet rising demand

Raan’s Kitchen, a home based catering company in Maharagama plans to go in for  sophisticated technology to meet the increase in demand for new menus.

The company also plans to launch a mobile app with customised menu options which would comprise delivery time, quality, favourites, immediate feedback and ratings. 

Raan’s Kitchen will also be implementing a system to cater to a larger customer base soon, according to Raan’s Kitchen, Managing Director Rangana Peiris. Time management is a vital component to ensure customer satisfaction and drive growth. Food has to be cooked properly, hygienically, packed neatly and delivered in time, she said.

Peiris said she learnt the trade from her mother who was a good cook.

“My mother was a great cook and from my childhood I have seen how she pulls off a nice scrumptious meal on the table for the family and also when a guest arrives. No one leaves our house without being treated to a warm and a heartfelt meal prepared by her,” she said, adding that it was the care and commitment of her mother that instilled in her a passion for cooking.

“I learnt the nitty-gritty’s of the trade early in life and started trying out good dishes with the help of her mother,” Peiris said.

There is a niche market for those who enjoy fresh and quality home-made food rather than eating from a restaurant, Peiris said, adding that she had built a brand due to the trust placed in her by clients.
