Teh New Year is celebrated all over the world with great enthusiasm and fun. It is a special day for the people. Because this day is the beginning of the New Year and they welcome the upcoming year in their own way.
People start the preparations for the new year many days earlier.
People buy new clothes, gifts and many new things from the market. Shops are full of crowds on these days. At midnight on December 31 there is a celebration of new year in Sri Lanka and all over the world. As a child, I like to say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new year.
