CSE conducts climate disclosure training program

23 January, 2022

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) is conducting a training program mainly for Listed Companies on Climate Disclosure with UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative(SSE), Climate Disclosure Standard Board (CDSB) and International Finance Corporation (IFC).

This also focuses on providing an overview of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations. Bringing this program to Sri Lanka was facilitated by the Centre for a Smart Future, a Colombo-based think tank.

The objective is to facilitate a multi-stakeholder dialogue on TCFD disclosure and provide an understanding of the importance of climate-related disclosure. Participation is completely free and delivered in English medium.

The training consists of two modules of 120 minutes each and is CDP certified.

The first module delivered via Zoom on January 20, provided an overview of what climate-related reporting is and why it is important. It also provided participants with the global and regional context and focus on the initial steps on how to address the TCFD recommendations.

The second module will provide an in-depth program during which participants will peer-review each other’s TCFD reports and wider good practice.

Participation needs a prior registration. Module two will be delivered from 1400-1600 hours (SL time) on January 27. The participants will receive the Zoom links upon registration.
