Covid-19: people could get infected several times - NHSL physician

30 January, 2022

Though there are people who have got infected with Covid-19 twice, no one who has been infected three or four times has been found so far. But it can happen in the future, physician of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL) Dr. Upul Dissanayake said.

He told a press briefing at the Health Promotion Bureau in Colombo on Friday that now it seems that the Omicron wave has hit Sri Lanka and it is now turning into a tsunami. Therefore, people should strictly follow all health guidelines, all the time, even if they are fully vaccinated.

Dr. Dissanayake said that if one member of the family gets Covid-19, all the other members are considered as infected even without testing (PCR/Rapid Antigen).

All those who talk against Covid-19 vaccination and discourage people from getting jabs are rascals and the law should be implemented against them, he added.
