CR in dangerous Kandy domain

20 February, 2022

Kandy Sports Club the defending league champions and strong contender for title and former champions CR and FC will take the field at Nittawela today (Sunday) to play their first round game in the inter club A division rugby championship.

Kandy SC have played three games against Air Force, CH and FC and Navy and won all while their last game against Army was postponed over covid virus issues involving the Colombo team.

CR and FC with two defeats, one win and one draw will be at the mercy of Kandy SC who are on a roll as the pick of the teams with only Havelocks being the team that can provide the defending champs with opposition.

What everyone knows is that Kandy SC will win today and what is not known is by how many points that can be anyone’s guess.

Coached by Fazil Marija, Kandy SC are however expected to go for the maximum of points and with a captain like Nigel Ratwatte they should not have a problem with the numbers game.

Led by Kavindu de Costa and coached by the experienced Dushanth Lewke, CR and FC field a young team and against Kandy SC nothing much is expected from them other than containing the try machine.
