Sri Lankan squash players will get an opportunity to make a big impact in the international squash scene in the future.

This is made possible with Sri Lanka Squash (SLS) having embarked to provide membership of eligible national players to the Professional Squash Association (PSA).

They can now participate at the PSA sanctioned tournaments and SLS can now host local satellite tournaments in order to earn the required qualifying ranking points.

Ravindu Laksiri the national champion for the past nine consecutive years, has qualified to participate at the Bangamatha International PSA tournament to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from March 18.

Likewise, the women’s champion and holder of the title for three consecutive years too will be participating in the same tournament under the women’s satellite category.

PSA tournaments are played by professional squash players the world over. The membership has been extended to six Sri Lanka national players.

Sri Lanka Squash hosted the first PSA satellite tournament in Sri Lanka in December that enabled Sri Lanka squash players to earn ranking points.

With more PSA International and Satellite tournaments to be hosted in Sri Lanka the national players can enhance their ranking points and earn entry for more international tournaments and get the much needed high level exposure.
