The Indian Government has donated drugs worth USD 15,415 to Sri Lanka. The stock of drugs was presented to Health Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana by the Indian High Commissioner Gopal Bagle yesterday.

The medicine included 95 essential drugs and the stock arrived at the Colombo harbour on the ship Girija of India.

Prof. Jayasumana addressing the gathering stressed the importance of the stock of drugs received from India at this difficult juncture. Sri Lanka is facing a shortage of drugs. India always stands by Sri Lanka as its neighbour, he said.
