The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM)  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Vavuniya at SLIM Home premises recently opening opportunities for the best performing marketing students of Vavuniya University to be a part of the vast SLIM-produced marketing fraternity.

The MoU was signed for five years with the Department of Marketing Management of the Faculty of Business Studies, with the aim of offering a gold medal and scholarship to the best marketing student pursuing the university’s Marketing Management Specialisation degree programme.

Dean, University of Vavuniya Faculty of Business Studies,  Dr. Y. Nanthagopan said, “This collaboration expands the scope of the university’s Marketing Management Specialisation degree programme, provides strategic value to the research by capturing the essence of marketing practices, and engages the students in extracurricular activities.”

SLIM, Head of Education, Dr. Kapila Fonseka said, “The purpose of this scholarship is to give much-needed guidance and support to best-performing marketing students who aspire to take an active leadership role in the corporate world. Each year, a deserving student following the Marketing Management Specialisation degree program at the Vavuniya University will be selected for the scholarship.”

As the national body for marketing in the country, the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing has been at the forefront of enlightening the local marketing fraternity on best practices in research, branding, advertising, and sales since its inception in 1970.
