People’s Leasing contributes to proper waste management at Sigiriya

The waste bins with the awareness boards were presented to the public by  Assistant Regional Manager of People’s Leasing and Finance PLC, Susil Priyantha and Project Manager of Sigiriya project in the Central Cultural Fund in Dambulla, Upul Nishantha. Representatives of People’s Leasing and Finance, Department of Archeology, Dambulla Pradeshiya Sabha, and Dambulla MOH office were also present.

People’s Leasing and Finance PLC contributed to the installation of the waste segregation bins at Sigiriya Rock Fortress as one of its CSR projects. The primary objective of this initiative is to create a proper waste disposal system to preserve the country’s ancient world heritage sites and assist in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Manager, Marketing, Communication and Sustainability of People’s Leasing, Hishan Welmilla, Branch Manager of People’s Leasing Dambulla Branch, Chathuranga Nagodavithana, A.I. Ahamed of Dambulla Pradeshiya Sabha, Sajith Wijesooriya of the Central Cultural Fund and representatives of People’s Leasing Dambulla branch were also present.

Waste Management involves the regular collection, transportation, processing, disposal or recycling and monitoring of different types of waste materials.

Through proper management of the waste segregation, we can save a considerable amount of money and prevent the environment from being harmed.
