22 May, 2022

The Coast Guard Turtle Conservation Project (CGTCP) recently released 283 turtle hatchlings hatched out from 465 turtle eggs conserved in various parts of the island.

Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) continuing the noble service said the hatchlings were safely released into the sea and that the CGTCP makes every effort to conserve turtle eggs in or around their natural habitats to ensure its safety.

The SLCG also conserves them in protected areas when natural nests are threatened. So far, the SLCG has released 8292 turtle hatchlings into the sea during this year, according to SLCG sources.
