Rasoda Dairies (Pvt) Ltd, a dairy products manufacturing company in Sri Lanka, was awarded the Gold Award in the medium and large dairy products category at the National Industrial Excellence Awards 2022 organised by the Industrial Development Board (IDB).

The awards ceremony was held under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Water’s Edge Hotel.

Rasoda means the dawn of taste. Rasoda always uses fresh cow’s milk from local dairy villages to manufacture yoghurt, yoghurt drink, curd, ice cream and many other products that adhere to the highest quality standards. Therefore, Rasoda products have won the trust of the consumers and they have been able to advance quickly in a very competitive market.

“I express my gratitude to our valued customers and staff members who made winning this Gold Medal a possibility,” Chairman and Managing Director of the company, Daminda Perera said.

Launched in 2002 with four employees manufacturing products using an average of 100–150 litres of milk a day, Rasoda now uses up to 12,000 litres of milk per day using modern machinery to manufacture their dairy products. The two new factories have a production capacity to use up to 40,000 litres of milk per day. It employs over 250 people and has over 300 dairy farmers supplying milk. Rasoda Dairies, which is GMP, HACCP and ISO 22000 certified, uses a combination of indigenous knowledge and the Dutch milk processing technology to manufacture quality products.

Rasoda Dairies plans to expand its distribution network to all parts of Sri Lanka.
