The New Ink Literary Forum 2022 was held at the Lakmahal Community Library, Kollupitiya, on July 23, with the participation of 28 writers published over the past year. This year’s program featured five panels and a virtual platform, and also included a discussion on “writing the winning book” in which three literary prize judges engaged in conversation. The New Ink keynote was delivered by Dr. Shashikala Assella, the Head of English, University of Kelaniya, on “protest and creativity in a country like ours”.

New Ink was founded in 2020 as an independent and non-affiliated literary forum focusing on emerging work from the Sri Lankan English literary fraternity.

It is set up and managed by a group of writers and literary enthusiasts. This year’s program showcased a rich blend of notables and emerging stars with critically-acclaimed work.
