Sri Lanka will be hosting a Davis Cup tie to be played from August 8 to 13 at the SLTA courts at Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha in Colombo.
It will be heartening to know that Sri Lanka’s number one player in Harshana Godamanna will join the team this time around. He is a player who can change the results in favour of Sri Lanka with his advanced knowledge in the game.
He has brought victory to Sri Lanka on several occasions previously that took Sri Lanka to group two at one time.
This is a group four tie where seven countries will appear including Sri Lanka who are confident of emerging winners and be promoted to group three.
The Sri Lanka team will comprise Harshana Godamanna, Yasitha de Silva, Tehan Wijemanne, Chethra Nilaweera and Ashen Silva with Udith Wickremasinghe as the non playing captain.
The draw will be conducted on August 7 and every team has to play two singles and a double match against another team.
