Australia’s cricketers made a generous gesture by donating the prize money they received from their recent tour of Sri Lanka.

Pat Cummins the captain of the Australian team who is a UNICEF Australia ambassador and ODI captain Aaron Finch donated A$ 45,000 to an organization called Sri Lanka Appeal and the funds will go to support children and families affected by the worst economic crisis in decades in Sri Lanka.

Australian cricketers were able to witness the crisis first hand during their cricket tour in June-July.

They saw the long queues for petrol and cries of thousands of peaceful protesters that vibrated around the Galle International Cricket Stadium during the second Test match.
