Jhonny Martin: A flamboyant goalie from Old Bens

Jhonny Martin was a flamboyant hockey goalie and no doubt was a great contributor towards the Old Bens successes from 1970 to 1976.
He represented the Mercantile HA from 1971 to 1975 and captained the team in 1977.

A versatile player, HL Mithrapala could be slotted in any position in the half line as the team desired. Nimble footed, he would with ease feed the forwards with delicate pushes, through passes and scoops. Highly dependable, he represented Uva HA at the National Championships in 1967 and 1968, and Government Services HA from 1969 to 1977.
