FitsAir to operate int’l flights from BIA

Creating aviation history in Sri Lanka, FitsAir, the nation’s first privately owned airline, will operate scheduled direct international flights from October 5. The flights will take off from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and the airline will deploy Airbus A320 aircraft for its operations.

The airline will initially operate three flights per week to Dubai International Airport.

FitsAir will then also fly to Velana International Airport Maldives from October 10, which would be a thrice a week frequency.

The airline has also included several South Indian destinations to their radar from end November.

FitsAir has been set up with a consortium of international and local investors and is headed by Former CEO of SriLankan Airlines, Peter Hill.
