Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe promised to give more facilities to the Sri Lanka Netball team who won the Asian Netball crown for the sixth time when he felicitated the players at a reception on Thursday.
“I already discussed the matter with Sports Ministry Secretary Dr Amal Harsha de Silva and directed to complete the Sugathadasa Sports Hotel facilities for the players. Especially the kitchen is presently not well prepared for the players and this must be ready very soon”, said Minister Ranasinghe.
In addition the Sports Minister has directed that the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium facilities be afforded to players while he also pointed out that the Sports Fund be allocated for further development.
Sri Lanka has also qualified for the World Netball championship which will be held in South Africa next year .
Netball Federation president Victoria Lakshmi and senior officials of the Netball Federation also graced the occasion.
