The Colombo Divisional Secretariat and the Western Province Cultural Circle hosted a ceremony at the Colombo District Secretariat auditorium on Friday to honour the artistes and technicians of the Sinhala film ‘The Newspaper’, which won several awards at the Moscow International Film Festival recently.
The film was commended at this event for its unique storytelling, which marked a new milestone in the annals of Sinhala cinema. Here Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media Dr. Bandula Gunawardane lights the oil lamp to inaugurate the ceremony. Actors Kumara Thirimadura and Sarath Kothalawala were also present.
