Zahira College, who are well known for producing good football players, produced another excellent performance to emerge champions of the Zahira 16 soccer Sevens tournament when they beat Darussalam in the Cup final at the Race Course ground yesterday.
The final ended in a 1-all draw at the long whistle and a penalty tie breaker had to be taken to decide the winner. Zahira proved their superiority by scoring three goals to 1 in the penalty shoot out.
Royal finished third in the cup category.
St. Joseph’s College emerged champions in the Plate event with S. Thomas’ finishing as runners-up.
