Rs. 432,000m for health and Rs. 504,000m for education

Budget 2023 will allocate Rs. 432,000 million for health services and Rs. 504,000 million for education.

The Government will allocate Rs. 572,000 million for the Samurdhi, public allowances and other social security measures, Sate Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya told the Sunday Observer.

He said that the present economic growth of Sri Lanka is nearly minus 8 percent and it would increase to minus 3 percent by next year by implementing effective economic management techniques within the Government sector.

State Minister Siyambalapitiya said the total estimated Government expenditure for next year as per the proposed Budget stands at Rs.7,885,000 million. It is expected to increase Government revenue to 13 percent from the present 8.5 percent, he added.
