Top teams entered to participate in the annual hockey tournament organized by Seethadevi Girls College and Seethadevi Sports Club held at the Asgiriya International Stadium recently.
Navy ‘A’ won the men’s ‘A’ division tournament when they beat Police 2-1 in the final. Colombo Colts Club won the men’s ‘B’ division tournament for club teams when they beat Kingswood HC 1-nil in the final.
Air Force ‘A’ beat their ‘B’ team 1-nil in the final in the women’s tournament.
Trinity College emerged as champions when they beat Dharmaraja College 3-2 in the boys under-16 category.
Vihara Maha Devi Girls College emerged champions in the girls’ event when they beat St. Anthony’s Convent 2-1 in the final.
This tournament was held after a two year break due to the Covid pandemic. This was the 19th edition that attracted 22 men’s and ten women’s teams along with schoolboys and girls teams.
