Now Sri Lanka wants the rugby World Cup

A special discussion was held at the Sports Minister’s office to bring the Rugby World Cup trophy to Sri Lanka for the public to have a close look at the trophy.

The next Rugby World Cup will be held this year.

The discussion was held on Tuesday (10) with Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe chairing the meeting with MasterCard Sri Lanka expressing their willingness to provide full support.

The trophy will be taken to other countries for the first time and the necessary arrangements are currently being made for Sri Lanka to obtain the right to display it to the public.

Those who attended the discussions were the Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs K. Maheshan, Director of MasterCard Sri Lanka Mahesha Amarasuriya, Chairman of the National Sports Council Arjuna Ranatunga, Advisor to the Minister of Sports Sudath Chandrasekara and Secretary of the National Sports Council Sujani Bogollagama.
