Pro golfer Anura Rohana finished on top with 4 strokes ahead of Mithun Perera at the golf trials held at the picturesque golf course in Nuwara Eliya from January 10 to 13.
This trial was held by Sri Lanka Golf (SLG) to pick the four-member team for the Asian Games to be held in China in September 2023.
More trials are scheduled by SLG under the watchful eyes of the National selectors in keeping with the standards set by the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports.
Meanwhile, the ranking tournament was held concurrently among the amateur golfers and Chanaka Perera emerged the winner with a total of 298 strokes. These top-ranking amateurs did not disappoint and finished close behind the pros. Uchitha Ranasinghe finished second with 307 strokes while Chalitha Pushpika finished third with 314 strokes. (TBR)
