Commemorative coin to mark 75th Independence Day

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka issued an uncirculated commemorative coin in the denomination of Rupees 1000 to mark the 75th Independence Day Celebration in the country, which fell yesterday. This is the 71st commemorative coin that was issued by the Central Bank.

The coin depicts the number “75” in large numerals with the image of holding the Sri Lankan flag at the center of the coin. Words “Independence Celebration” in English, Sinhala and Tamil appear along the periphery on the upper edge of the coin. The years “1948 – 2023” appear along the periphery on the bottom edge of the coin

The coin depicts the face value “1000” in large numerals at the center. Words “Rupees” in Sinhala, Tamil and English appear below the face value and the national emblem of Sri Lanka appears above the face value. The year “2023” is at the bottom edge of the coin.
