The National Chamber held its 64th Annual General Meeting on the theme ‘Crisis to Recovery at the Kingsbury recently. Members of the business community, diplomats, government officials and well-wishers were present. Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya was the chief guest and Ambassador of Japan, in Sri Lanka, Mizukoshi Hideaki was the guest of honour.
Three presentations were made. Managing Director, Hayleys Plantations, Dr. Roshan Rajadura spoke on the topic ‘Agriculture sector’, Chairman, Jetwing Symphony PLC Hiran Cooray on ‘Tourism sector’ and MD/CEO, Regen Renewables, Dr. Lakmal Fernando on ‘Power and Energy sector’.
The following office-bearers were elected at the AGM: President – Deepal Nelson, Senior Deputy President – Anura Warnakulasooriya, Deputy President - Kavinda Rajapaksa, Honorary Secretary - Dr. Lakmal Fernando, Honorary Treasurer - Chamika Godamanna.
