New dates for Trinity-Antonian

Dates for the Trinity College versus St. Anthony’s College cricket encounters have been changed. The 104th Battle of the Blues has been changed from March 24 and 25 to April 21 and 22 at Katugastota.

The limited-over fixture to be played for the 41st occasion will be played on April 29 at Asgiriya.

Trinity U-16 champions

The Trinity College under-16 basketball team side emerged champions of the under-16 Central Zone Basketball tournament. They beat Gateway College Kandy 58-18 in the final on March 5 at Trinity College and Werra Mohan College courts.

Savitha Gunawardena was adjudged the Best Offensive player and Tinuka Jamburegoda the Most Valuable player.

Kandy CC wins fourth game

Kandy Cricket Club the only club from Kandy to take part in the under-23 Invitation tournament has won four games out of five.

They were able to beat Rajarata SC by 155 runs at DC ground in Anuradhapura.

Kandy CC: 255 for 7 in 50 overs (Malith Kulatunga 73, Kavishka Dilshan 51 n.o. Induwara Galapitage 39, Yoshitha Udahakotuwa 39 n.o. Vimukthi Bandara 3 for 29)

Rajarata SC: 100 in 33.4 overs (Janidu Nandasena 39, Charith Rajaguru 3 for 26, Shashika Basnayake 3 for 12, Kanaka Wickremasinghe 3 for 12)

Kandy SC ready for CR 7s

Kandy Sports Club’s best rugby Sevens players will be seen in action at the CR & FC Invitation Sevens tournament to be held at Longdon Place from March 31 to April 2.

This tournament is organized in connection to the centenary celebrations of CR & FC. All top rugby players in the country are expected to seen in action.
