LOLC Group allocates Rs 1.5b to help schoolchildren

The LOLC Group commenced stage two of ‘DiviSaviya’ program to provide schoolchildren in 2,671 schools from grades 1-13 islandwide all their education needs allocating Rs. 1.5 billion.

The yearly requirements of exercise books, school bags, water bottles and other stationery such as pens, pencils, colour boxes, and mathematical tool boxes will be provided to school children from grades 1-13 island-wide, in a sequential order through this project.

For the initial phase of the project, 2,671 schools with less than 100 children have been identified.
