According to the Horana Police a private bus has been completely destroyed by a sudden fire this morning today (21 March) in front of Boralugoda Investment Promotion Zone on Horana - Ratnapura road.
As soon as the fire broke out, the passengers in the bus have rushed out to save their lives.
The police say that the bus which was carrying passengers from Ratnapura to Panadura has stopped at the bus stop in front of the Horana Boralugoda Investment Promotion Zone and resumed its journey after picking up the passengers. Fire has broken out at this point after emitting smoke from the front of the bus.
There were more than forty people in the bus at that time, thankfully no one was injured.
The Horana Municipal Council's fire and rescue unit and locals have worked together to put out the fire.
