Shuttlers above the age of 70 will be seen in action for the first time in their own age classes at this year’s Summer Season Open Badminton Championship in Nuwara Eliya, the organisers of the event announced.
The tournament which will be held at the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Indoor Stadium is organised by the Central Province Badminton Association with the sponsorship of Sri Lanka Badminton from April 22 to 30.
Players above 70 will battle for total prize money of Rs.100,000 and will be offered special discounts of 50% for accommodation facilities among other privileges according to the organisers.
