Rock 'n' Roll Queen Tina Turner Passes Away at Age 83

Rock 'n' roll icon Tina Turner, known for her powerful voice and electrifying stage presence, has died at the age of 83 yesterday (24 May). The music legend, whose career spanned over six decades, passed away at her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. Tina Turner is an American-born singer who left a farming community to become one of the top recording artists of all time.

Born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee, Tina Turner rose to fame as the lead singer of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue in the 1960s and 1970s. After a abusive marriage and subsequent divorce, Tina embarked on a successful solo career, achieving even greater heights. Her iconic songs such as "What's Love Got to Do with It," "Private Dancer," and "Simply the Best" became anthems for millions of fans around the world.

Nick named as Nicknamed the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll”, Turner won her eight Grammy Awards including a Grammy lifetime achievement award. She has also been elected to Rock ‘n’ Rolle hall of fame twice.
