Seminar on plastic pollution

4 June, 2023

Biodiversity Sri Lanka (BSL), in partnership with the EU Switch Asia Plastics Project Consortium and Dilmah Conservation, will host “Circular Economy – Beyond Recycling” at the Orchid Hall, BMICH on Thursday, June 8 at 3.00 p.m. to mark World Environment Day. This year’s theme builds on the campaign #BeatPlasticPollution.

The panelists will be Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Shamodi Nanayakkara, Lakshan Madurasinghe and Arjun Shetty. It will be moderated by Prof. Rangika Bandara.

Plastic pollution poses a critical social and environmental threat with multiple economic implications for Sri Lanka. The event will focus on how countries, businesses, and individuals are learning to use plastics more sustainably, hoping that one-day plastic pollution will be history.
