JASTECA awards launched

The launch of JASTECA (Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association) Awards 2018 took place in Colombo last week.

JASTECA is the Alumni Society of Association of Overseas Technical Scholarship, known as AOTS which functions under the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Japan.

The awards ceremony was launched to encourage public and private sectors to improve the efficiency and business productivity.

President JASTECA, Nimal Perera welcomed the guests and Past President, JASTECA, Sunil Wijesinha made the keynote speech.

Among those who made presentations were, Manager, Lean Enterprise-MAS Active Linea Intimo, Sathila Dharmasiri, Director Medical Services, Durdans Hospital, Dr. Wimal Karandagoda (5S activities in the health sector), M.W. Rahuman (Police Training School, Boralanda) (5S activities in police stations), Senior Vice President Gamini Marambe (Overview of evaluation criteria on 5S and Kaizen competition) and JASTECA Trustee and Past President Athula R. F. Edirisinghe (CSR Sustainability Awards).
