Opportunity for Accounting undergrads to display talent

The Department of Accountancy, Faculty of Business Studies and Finance of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka will hold the fourth Symposium of Accounting and Finance Research (SACFIRE – 2018) on April 6 at its auditorium on the theme ‘From functionalism to ontological perspective: thinking sociologically’.

The Symposium is a milestone for the Department of Accountancy as the boundaries have been expanded to national level, providing opportunities to Accounting and Finance undergraduates of all Sri Lankan universities to participate and exchange their research experience covering the scope of Accounting and Finance with scholars.

As one of the initial steps of SACFIRE – 2018, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies and Finance, Dr. R.A. Rathnasiri launched the official web site of the symposium on January 12 at the Board Room of Faculty of Business Studies and Finance, with the aim of furnishing information to all authors and participants ensuring convenience and accessibility.

On the invitation of Emil Sudath Kumara, Coordinator – Technical and Publicity Committee, Dr. Kumara Uluwatta, Head of the Department of Accountancy, Dr. Tharinda Vidanagama, Director ICT center of Wayamaba University of Sri Lanka, all the senior lecturers and lecturers of the department and academics of the other departments of the faculty participated in the event.

Through the web site, sacfire.wyb.ac.lk, authors and participants could obtain information about the conference in detail and it will also provide facilities to upload the papers and to obtain the comments of reviewers.

The web page also contain conference details of the past three years. The Department of Accountancy of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka invites all Sri Lankan Accounting and Finance undergraduates to witness SACFIRE - 2018.
