The Chief Incumbent of Sri Sambodhi Vihara, Sri Lanka, Sri Sambodhi Community Development Foundation, London and Chairman of the Buddhist Media Network, Sri Lanka, Most Ven. Daranagama Kusaladhamma Thera passed away yesterday.
The Thera, who was critically ill, passed away at the Vihara at around 5.20 a.m. yesterday morning. As per Sambodhi Vihara sources, the last rites of the Thera is expected to be conducted on Thursday, March 8 at the Independence Square under State patronage.
The date was to be finalised at a meeting among the stakeholder parties, late last evening. The Most Ven. Kusaladhamma was first educated at Royal College, Colombo, and later obtained a Masters Degree from the University of Kelaniya.
The Most Ven. Kusaladhamma was 54 at the time of his passing away.
