Annual Walk for the Child victims

7 July, 2019

St. Thomas International College, Seeduwa dedicated their Annual Walk for the Child victims of the Easter Sunday Attack. The walk which was named as “Thomian Visitation” took place last Saturday under the theme “Children for Children”. “This time our kids went ahead with the Mass and the Procession on behalf of all the victims of the Easter Sunday Attack. We are sad to say that five of our children were injured and two parents lost their lives in the Katuwapitiya attack” said Rev. Fr. Kennedy Perera, the Principal of the school. The “Thomian Visitation” took a religious tone as the children engaged in charity works such as cleaning the beach, raising funds to help those who are in need (such as Child Orphanages, Elders Homes and the under privileged schools). Further the principal added. During the whole month of may they collect a till that contributes to the helpless. Our school has offered scholarships for the children whose parents died and for the children who are injured”. According to him, this is the 8th time St. Thomas International School organized the walk. In a society where the “Culture of the Walks” is uncultured, undisciplined and disturbing, Thomians Visitations conveys a great message to society.
