Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was the Chief Guest at the 2019 Commonwealth Law Ministers’ Meeting which concluded in Colombo on November 7th. Law Ministers and Attorney-Generals across the Commonwealth meet triennially to share common legal traditions and experiences.
This year’s meeting covered a wide range of topics including the rule of law, vulnerable persons in the justice system, authentication and admissibility of electronic evidence, judicial appointments, national coordination and international cooperation in criminal matters, developments in data protection law, issue in the reform of civil procedure law and mobile courts.
