Bangladesh - Sri Lanka Art Exposition

A five day exhibition of artworks of contemporary Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi artists will be inaugurated at Harold Peiris Gallery at the Lionel Wendt, 18 Gilford Crescent, Colombo 7 on December 16 at 6 pm.

The event themed, Bangladesh –Sri Lanka Art Exposition, an exchange of works by 12 contemporary artists from the two countries, is aimed at developing the field of contemporary art and exchange opportunities between the two countries. Western Province Governor Dr. Seetha Arambepola will grace the occasion as chief guest.

The most fascinating part of the art exchange will be a two day Art Camp at the Wesagiriya Garden in Anuradhapura where all 12 artists will do artwork in the open, on December 18 and 19. In addition, the High Commission has arranged to telecast the award winning Bangladeshi film Matir Projar Deshe (Kingdom of clay subjects) on December 15 on ITN’s primetime weekend movie slot, to mark Bangladeshi 48th Victory Day.

The Art event is a collaboration between the Bangladeshi High Commission and Gallery Four Life, Sri Lanka.
