Two mystery players in Sri Lanka netball squad

The Sri Lanka Netball Federation has named a final squad of 15 players for the upcoming tour of Hong Kong and the tournament to be held from February 20 to 24 leaving room for questions to be raised on its composition.

The squad will leave on February 14. Former skipper Chathurangi Jayasuriya who was in the original pool of 22 players is missing from the final squad due to personal reasons.

However, Gayanjali Amarawansa and Thisala Algama who did not participate in the trials due to medical reasons are mysteriously included in the final squad of 15 players.

The Selection Committee comprising Padma Baddewela, Sakunthala Wijetunga, Seetha Ramani, Thisangani Kodithuwakku and Vajira Pushpakumari picked the squad after conducting trials at the Sugathadasa Stadium last week.

The team is coached by Thilaka Jinadasa and assisted by PDN Prasadi.
